“If you feel like there’s something out there that you’re supposed to be doing, if you have a passion for it, then stop wishing and just do it.” —Wanda Sykes

2020 has been a year of reflections, though I don’t care to relive it, but it has taught me many life lessons. Most importantly it has made me realize that dreams and passions are a must for purposeful living and we must not let them slip away for any excuse. Sometimes it takes an awakening, sometimes a twist in life, sometimes an inspiration from others, sometimes a push from your dear ones, sometimes  COVID and sometimes a cumulative effect of all the above to crack a hard nut like me.

Parenting is a topic close to my heart. Not only my parents did a commendable job raising me & my sister (blush blush), I think I’m doing a pretty decent work too. Motherhood has challenged me, amused me, empowered me, has impacted every aspect of my life.  And having (s)mothered one “neuro-typical’ and one “neuro-diverse’ child I feel I’m totally on top of the game.

Desi parents with videshi kids is a deadly combo in itself and to top it all, God blessed us with a tadka (tempering) of Autism. Then some naïve friends of mine complemented me for my writing style being engaging and that unleashed the devil inside me. I knew for once that this is my spark, my therapy, my place to vent and a topic I strongly feel about. It got me to set up this page and embark a journey to entertain, help and inspire and share a laugh with every brave family.
